Job Description: Specialist - Strategy, Lubrizol
Lubrizol is seeking a dynamic and experienced candidate for the Strategy team of India, Middle East, and Africa (IMEA) region. This person will support regional strategy leader for conceptualization to execution of regional strategic framework and strategic initiatives. A successful candidate will work on preparation of business strategy, market analysis and insights, project management, data analysis, storylining, and driving collaboration with teams across businesses, departments and functions while supporting and driving key strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Outside-in perspective
- Conduct research on key macroeconomic and target market indicators, trends, and data
- Build understanding of the target markets to generate point-of-views and insights from the data and indicators
- Keep track of industry peers for their performance and key developments
Strategic planning and execution
- Support crafting business strategy for short and long term
- Enabling strategy conceptualization through structured/ framework approach
- Develop and validate business cases, including financial modeling and impact assessment for strategic initiatives
- Supporting execution of strategy by working with key stakeholders
- Preparing presentations for regional and global cadence as needed for MD IMEA
- Communication and presentation to leadership on key initiatives to support execution
- Support in bringing all key elements together by framing decision options, trade-offs, and implications for driving effective business decisions
- Compilation, assimilation and preparation (including confidential, sensitive) documents and briefs
Problem-solving approach and Project Management
- Identify and remove roadblocks hindering the progress of strategic initiatives
- Escalation of hold-ups at the right time to help leaders spend time based on right prioritization
- Support strategy governance by managing review cadences, tracking decisions, and ensuring follow‑through
- Drive timely execution and track KPI driven progress
Working with regional and global cross-functional teams
- Collaborate with regional and global business, commercial, and functional teams
- to execute strategic initiatives effectively
- to align regional priorities and goals with broader business objectives and strategies
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering or related discipline) and MBA preferred
- 3-5 years of experience post MBA with preference to candidates with background in Strategy, Consulting
- Expertise in various tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI is essential
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Execution focused, has inherent bias for action
- Strong prioritization skills
