As a Senior Research Chemist your innovations will impact our future. The primary focus will be working with the key customer of emerging technologies in refrigeration and developing lubricant products that meet these needs.

Responsibilities: 

• Lead the project to work with customers and OEM's to design, conduct, and document lubricant product development with new and existing refrigerants. 
• Lead the project to anticipate, determine, and understand the emerging market trends and needs of our customers to apply product technologies to satisfy those requirements
• Represent CPI at ASHRAE and other industry trade organizations and actively participate in their technical committees.
• Attend appropriate industry conferences and symposiums focused on emerging refrigeration technologies
• Develop a good understanding of the intellectual property landscape and track pertinent literature 
• Develop training for internal and external customers in refrigeration lubricants for current and emerging technologies. 
• Work with multidisciplinary team (procurement, mechanical testing, synthesis, and modeling) to coordinate product development efforts in emerging technologies. 
• Actively participate in project review meetings for refrigeration. 
• Provide technical support to sales, customers, and partners as needed
• Perform independent research in a multidisciplinary environment on emerging refrigeration issues
• Ability to maintain an accurate, clear legal record of experiment results and provide written summaries and interpretation of results 
• Interpret and communicate results to colleagues, sponsors and customers 
• Understand and comply with all applicable internal corporate and external health, safety and environmental policies; act consistently with corporate standards of integrity

Skill, Experience, and Qualifications: 

• Ph.D. in Chemistry or Engineering with 15+ years of experience in lubricants 

CONSIDERED A PLUS:

• Experience with HVAC system OEM’s and/or key raw material suppliers
• Refrigeration lubricant experience
• Knowledge and experience of tribology and tribological testing
• Thermodynamic modeling of gas/liquid refrigeration systems
• Phase behavior, equations of state and their practical application

Working Conditions:
