Network Engineer

Lubrizol is looking for an experienced Network Engineer to join our IT team and support the planning, design, implementation and sustainability of a secure network infrastructure with a focus on the Core Network components as well as WAN Network components at Lubrizol’s 80+ facilities around the world.  This is an exciting time to join our organization, as we have a renewed focus on ensuring operational excellence and cyber security within the organization – given this, we’re looking for motivated problem solvers who enjoy working in a dynamic and collaborative team environment to support growth and development in these areas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive the broader transition of Lubrizol's existing traditional networking landscape to the next generation of the network which includes Software Defined Network (SDN), Cloud Network Infrastructure, and Automation of Network Services. 
• Analyze and propose advanced network and infrastructure solutions, leveraging emerging technologies and industry technology trends to meet evolving business requirements. This includes designing scalable, secure and resilient architectures for both on-premises and cloud environments.
• Identify potential network risks and provide effective long-term technical solutions to mitigate these risks.
• Design/configure existing network solutions that meet or exceed business requirements following documented standards.
• Collaborate with the Network Operations and Delivery teams to deliver global network solutions.
• Document new network solutions in a manner that helps the Network Operations and Delivery teams not only deploy the solution but also support the ongoing solution.

• Collaborate with other IT professionals outside the immediate team to plan and execute network-related projects.

• Act as the primary infrastructure escalation for APAC region, ensuring seamless network connectivity and system performance across all sites

Requirements:

• IT related bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (eight + years’ experience in Network / IT Infrastructure roles acceptable)
• At least 5+ years of experience supporting a global network environment across various Network Domains (Firewalls/SD-WAN/F5).
• Strong experience in designing and implementing Network Architectures in Azure/GCP/AWS preferably in a hybrid setup.
• Strong experience in designing and implementing solutions for datacenter migrations from On-Prem to Cloud / Co-Lo
• Demonstrated capability with TCP/IP, subnetting, DNS and DHCP
• Experience troubleshooting, implementing and configuring the following:
• Mixed Internet/MPLS WAN environment
• Datacenter migration
• Routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF and EIGRP
• Switching, wireless and firewall technologies (eg. Cisco, Arista, Palo Alto, etc…)
• Routing/SD-WAN experience (eg. VeloCloud, Meraki, etc…)

• Working knowledge of the following:
• Network security technologies such as VPN, TACACS+, RADIUS, NAC
• Network protocol analysis and troubleshooting using various tools (e.g. Wireshark) and equipment for root cause determination
• Knowledge of ITIL practices:
• (Problem management) - Experience with technical crisis & major incident management
• (Change management) - Experience with change advisory board (CAB) procedures
• (Incident management) - Ability to handle escalated tickets within SLA from Netops or other IT groups, provide deep troubleshooting and create root-cause analysis and permanent fixes.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices
• CIS Critical Security Control - Network Infrastructure Management
• Understanding of CIS benchmarks

• Demonstrated a results-oriented approach, exhibits strong accountability and ownership, and consistently contributes as an effective team member
• Strong technical documentation and diagraming
  • Keeping the network documentation as a source of truth.
  • Maintain high-quality documentation for diagrams, network inventories and SOPs

• Able to read, understand, and speak Mandarin

Technical Certifications:

• CCNP certification or equivalent/higher
• Palo Alto Certification (PCNSA)/ PCNSE Preferred
• Network Engineer Associate Certification (Google Cloud/ AWS /Azure)
• SD-WAN Vendor Certification (VMWare/Cisco/Fortinet)
• F5 Certified BIG-IP Administrator
• ITIL foundation
• Servers or Cybersecurity certification is a plus
