ACCOUNTABILITY:
This role is responsible for formulating and executing the overall financial strategy for the operational units, aligning with the company’s business objectives. The position leads the LSAL Finance team to ensure full compliance with US and local GAAP, Lubrizol policies, and all statutory requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of LSAL Finance, ensuring smooth and efficient financial processes.
- Responsible for maintaining full sets of accounts for LSAL and its offices, ensuring compliance with both US and local GAAP, Lubrizol policies, as well as all relevant tax and statutory requirements.
- Manage costing, inventory control, and fixed assets activities to ensure accurate financial reporting and asset management.
- Play a key role in the annual manufacturing and capital budgeting process, providing financial insight and analysis.
- Ensure timely month-end closing and submission of management reports, maintaining accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Oversee monthly closing activities, ensuring that the trial balance is properly maintained and closed in an efficient and timely manner.
- Handle tax computations, manage tax queries, and coordinate tax audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with external auditors to fulfill statutory audit requirements, providing necessary documentation and support.
- Serve as a finance business partner to the operations team, managing costs and expenses, and driving cost-saving initiatives as well as productivity and efficiency improvements.
- Play an active role in finance department and cross-functional operational excellence and process improvement initiatives.
- Act as the focal point for local incentive programs, coordinating with relevant stakeholders to ensure effective implementation and management.
- Lead, motivate, and develop the finance team to achieve departmental goals and foster professional growth.
- Provide expertise in system implementation and enhancements.
- Perform any other ad hoc duties as required to support country and regional business needs.
REQUIREMENTS (education, experience, competencies and specific job requirements):
- Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- Professional qualification of CA, CPA, or ACCA is required.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in accounting and tax, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- At least 4 years’ experience managing full sets of accounts.
- Experience and expertise in system implementation and enhancement is a plus.
- Demonstrated strong experience in supervising and leading teams.
- Experience with SAP systems is an advantage.
- Strong team player with a proactive and positive attitude.
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Proven leadership abilities.
- Fluent in both spoken and written English.
