Automotive Technician – Shift (Mechanical & Engine Testing)
Job Type: Full-time | On-site
Shift + Hours: 4 days on / 4 days off rotating shift (2 day shifts followed by 2 night shifts, 12-hour shifts, approx. 6am–6pm / 6pm–6am)
Salary Range: Competitive salary + shift allowance + comprehensive benefits package
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Conduct and monitor fired engine, driveline, and industrial tests in line with defined procedures
- Operate test control systems to monitor data and adjust operating parameters as required
- Build, install, de-rig, and strip engines, gearboxes, axles, and other mechanical test components
- Initiate and support repairs to test installations to ensure continuous operation
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and support implementation of enhancements
- Promote and comply with all Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E) policies and procedures
Required Qualifications that Enable Your Success
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
- Proven hands-on experience with automotive fault-finding techniques
- Experience with engine strip-down, repair, or rebuild activities
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
- PC literacy, including use of standard office and data systems
- Flexibility and willingness to work rotating day and night shifts in a 24/7 operation
Preferred Qualifications that Drive You Forward
- Previous experience working in an engine test cell, mechanical testing, or laboratory environment
- Prior experience in a shift-based operational role

- Working in a mechanical and engine testing facility with appropriate PPE provided
- Standing, walking, and operating mechanical equipment for extended periods
- Manual handling of engines, components, and test equipment
- Adherence to rigorous safety protocols and HS&E standards
- Working within a 24/7, 365-day operational schedule
