Lubrizol is looking for a Site Human Resources Manager to join our HR Operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and continuously improving the human resource policies and programs for our Franklin, WI location.  The Site HR Manager must be a visible leader, have the pulse of the team, and understand the strategic direction of the facility. You will provide coaching and guidance on recruiting, compensation, performance management, employee relations, training, and safety matters. This position is based at our Franklin, WI facility.

 

What you will do: 

  • Act as main HR contact for site leadership and shape/deliver HR priorities for the site(s) including but not limited to:
    • Ensure delivery and communication of relevant changes to HR policies and programs to employees and managers
    • Partner with Leveraged Services (LS) and Centers of Excellence (COEs) or Global Process Owners (GPOs) to define/understand local employee engagement survey issues / feedback
    • Act as change agent and support site leaders in planning / managing people and organization changes
  • Work closely with local management / employees to improve work relationships, build engagement, increase productivity, attract, and retain talent including but not limited to:
    • Identify training needs for employees and individual employee coaching needs within the context of overall strategy. Plan, organize, develop material for and deliver locally required training / learning sessions
    • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line management to optimize / improve employee or team performance
    • Identify need for compensation review of existing job / role, evaluate requirements, review internal inventory, document new job roles, responsibilities, and competencies, provide requirements to COEs or GPOs for evaluation and communicates results to local managers
    • Support the local recruitment process as needed depending on regional talent acquisition structure. Provide targeted sourcing and recruitment for hard-to-fill or niche roles and management positions
    • Facilitate New Leader Assimilation for new people managers
  • Support managers during the disciplinary process including documenting plan of action
  • Support and coach local managers to remain compliant with HR policies and laws related to employees and to identify / mitigate employee relations issues before they escalate into an investigation
    • Support Employee Relations GPO in investigations and case resolution for local managers / employees
  • Establish and implement union engagement approach.
    • Provide guidance to site leadership for union, works council, or regulatory requirements or laws for negotiations and contract administration
  • Ensure compliance with HR processes and associated country laws at the site level
  • Provide coaching and guidance to Site HR team, develop team capabilities, and support individual development needs (if applicable)

  • Demonstrate solid knowledge of the business/operations and ability to influence results
  • Build engaging relationships with all stakeholders and is viewed as a trusted advisor by the site leadership team.
  • Drive HR initiatives at site level
  • Serve as a resource to others and helps drive workable solutions
  • Consistently identify opportunities for HR process improvement and implements with appropriate approvals and input
  • Drive the practice of growing and sharing talent throughout Lubrizol

 

What you need: 

  •  Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
  •  Minimum 5 years of HR experience
  •  Experience in delivering HR services to a site or in a front-line, manufacturing or operations environment
  • Knowledge of California Labor Laws
