What You'll Do:

As Senior Manager, Decision Science, you will shape Lubrizol’s digital future by driving AI-powered innovation across operations. In this role, you’ll lead a diverse team of experts in advanced analytics, automation, and process optimization, turning data into actionable strategies that enhance safety, reliability, and business performance. This is a unique opportunity to combine strategic leadership with emerging technologies to deliver transformative results.

 

  • Build and lead a high-performing team specializing in AI-driven process innovation.
  • Develop and execute strategies for computer vision automation, operations analytics, and supply chain forecasting and optimization.
  • Collaborate with technical leads and business stakeholders to define project footprints and deliver business value.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of computer vision systems to automate and enhance decision speed and quality.
  • Lead initiatives to improve operational safety, reliability, and productivity through advanced analytics and automation.
  • Drive supply chain forecasting projects using AI/ML models to enhance business decision-making and demand planning.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop talent in AI, data science, and process automation, fostering a culture of innovation and growth.
  • Partner with HR and global stakeholders to ensure alignment on compensation, career development, and succession planning.
  • Identify and prioritize opportunities for digital transformation and process optimization.
  • Stay abreast of emerging AI technologies and best practices in automation and analytics.
  • Promote a learning culture with curiosity, ownership, and proactive problem-solving.

 

Skills That Make a Difference:

  • Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Chemical Engineering or a related field with deep expertise in Data Science.
  • 10+ years of working experience in AI, computer vision, operations analytics, and supply chain forecasting.
  • Proven people leadership experience within a decision science or data analytics function, preferably in the specialty chemical or related industry.
  • Practical knowledge on recent AI topics, including Agentic AI, Generative AI, and current advances in product development, formulation optimization, and computational modeling.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a global team, driving innovation and achieving measurable results.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strategic thinker and thought leader with a strong business acumen and the ability to translate data insights into actionable strategies.
  • Travel required up to ~20%. 

 

Considered a Plus:

  • Experience with R&D and operational processes in the specialty chemical industry.
