The Remediation Manager will play a critical role in supporting Lubrizol’s environmental legal function by managing remediation projects across multiple sites. This position will require a proactive leader who can navigate complex environmental challenges, partner with site-level HSES teams, and operate independently to deliver results.
- Provide direction and oversight of on-site and off-site environmental remediation projects.
- Interact with consultants, joint defense groups, and local, state, federal and foreign environmental agencies.
- Participate in reserve setting and capital planning programs to address key environmental issues.
- Lead preparation of work plans, investigation reports, feasibility studies, remedial design, and implementation of remediation projects.
- Manage technical aspects of investigation and remediation projects, risk assessments (human health and ecological), sediment management and remediation, decommissioning, decontamination, and demolition.
- Prepare appropriate timely internal and external reports.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent degree.
- A minimum of five years of professional experience in an environmental related discipline.
- Project/program management skills and regulatory knowledge (federal and state-specific requirements for site investigation, remediation, and closure).
- Experience in successful execution of subsurface and sediment investigations, installing various remedial technologies, development of conceptual models, and site closure.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Interact well with all employees, regulators, and the general public.
- Expected to work independently and handle multiple priorities.
- Irregular work schedule and travel may be required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 7+ years of related experience investigating and remediating environmental sites experience, with 10 years of experience highly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, geology, environmental science, or related discipline.
