What You'll Do:

 

As a Reliability Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of our innovation by implementing a 3-year Reliability Improvement Plan, Equipment Maintenance Strategies and Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) program through application of reliability technology and tools. 

 

What We're Looking For:

  • Conducts Criticality Screening and Risk Analysis to identify critical equipment and Balance of Plant (BOP) equipment.
  • Champions and implements Asset Strategies in alignment with equipment criticality and business needs.
  • Support development and execution of the 3-year Reliability Improvement Plan, including Asset Availability performance history and improvement goals related to Equipment Reliability.
  • Selects the appropriate Risk Management Strategy or Alternative Failure Management Strategy and develops / implements Equipment Maintenance Strategies (EMS’s) for each piece of critical equipment and generic EMSs for BOP equipment.
  • Support PPM Coordinator for reviews of existing plans for effectiveness and applicability based on the Risk Management Strategy, Alternative Failure Management Strategy, vendor information, RCM tools, historical equipment reliability issues, results of PPM, etc. Adds, deletes, and/or modifies existing PPM to eliminate low value PPM on BOP equipment and effectively manage risk on critical equipment. Note: Include PPM services as required on parts and spare equipment to ensure warehoused part / equipment quality is maintained during storage (e.g. shaft rotation, motor heater check).
  • Evaluates / implements available Equipment Condition Monitoring techniques and new technology to improve productivity, effectiveness, and value of equipment condition monitoring program.
  • Supports PPM Coordinator to ensure that documentation of findings of PPM and Corrective Maintenance activities are properly documented in CMMS so that evaluations can be done.
  • Routinely monitors Asset Reliability, maintenance data, PPM results, significant reliability events, RCA findings, maintenance histories, and production loss data.
  • Analyzes production loss accounting data and cost data to develop and prioritize a list of reliability opportunities.
  • Facilitates Root Cause Analysis and RCM studies, utilizing reliability engineering tools such as Weibull and FMEA, for events that meet the incident triggers. Implements effective corrective actions / improvements.
  • Performs value engineering activities for projects, design, Reliability / Maintenance input, PMs, BOMs, equipment selection, criticality, etc.
  • Ensure new equipment is integrated into appropriate systems, tools, processes, strategies, etc. prior to being put into Service.
  • Performs periodic gap assessments between the Asset Reliability Plan, Equipment Maintenance Strategies and PPM plans to identify gaps vs. current reliability performance, cost, and asset availability. Identifies and implements corrective actions / improvements to eliminate low value PPM (e.g. extend intervals between PPM) or other work while effectively managing risk in terms of mechanical integrity, EHS, production, maintenance cost, etc.
  • Implements periodic plant equipment / facility audits to proactively monitor plant condition and prevent unplanned deterioration of assets.
  • Supports PPM Coordinator to optimize spare parts / equipment inventory.
  • Champions use of Management of Change process for changes, modifications, deletions to equipment, materials, parts, consumables, and related Operating Discipline. 

 

Skills That Make a Difference: 

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in engineering; mechanical engineering preferred.
  • 5 years experience as a maintenance or project engineer operating within a chemical plant.
  • Proven success in leading cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with mechanical integrity, applicable building codes with a NFPA-NEC, API, or ASME certification.
  • Familiarity with various IDMS software suites, various API standards (579, 580, 570, 510, 650/653
  • Background analyzing infrared surveys, oil, and vibrations.
  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt considered a plus.
  • Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) considered a plus.
