This role will be supported by 2-4 direct reports and require influence and collaboration with partners across the department and the organization. In this role, you’ll be part of a diverse, talented, and energetic Global Communications team and contribute to projects with broad impact and high visibility. This position can be based out of our Global Headquarters, in Wickliffe, OH, or our Deer Park, Texas facility following a hybrid working model.

What you will do:

  • Internal Communications:
    • As part of your internal communications oversight, you will be responsible for designing a communications cadence for various employee audiences, ensuring the right message for the right audience through the right channel at the right time. Key accountabilities include supporting business priorities and strategic initiatives through clear, concise and effective internal communication strategies. This includes support for always-on communications (Intranet, Digital Signage, Newsletters, Townhalls) and building, executing and measuring the effectiveness of communications plans for focused initiatives based on business needs.
    • Under your oversight, your team will serve as a communications partner to the Chief Human Resources Officer and her team, as well as the Chief Information Officer and his team.
    • Your role is critical to Lubrizol, as you will be providing specialized communication consultation and project management for the development, execution and measurement of an omni-channel internal communication strategy that clearly articulates and aligns with the organization’s strategy.
    • You’ll get to exercise your creative muscle and leverage your knowledge of current internal communications trends and best practices when designing, producing, distributing and measuring engaging and effective email and yammer campaigns, internal news articles, meeting content, live events, and other initiatives and platforms.
  • Operations Communications:
    • As a partner to the Senior Vice President, Operations, you will be responsible for communications that engage both Operations leadership and our frontline and ensure a safe operationally excellent Lubrizol.
    • Within the Operations function, your team will support content creation for meetings; tool kits for initiatives, including talking points, FAQs and development of program materials; communications on safety programs, best practices and lessons learned; tool and training rollout and other initiatives.
    • The leader also is responsible for creating strategic communications plans to keep the broader Operations team informed, inspired and engaged. This includes evaluating, adapting, and leveraging a variety of communications tools, including digital signage, breakroom/bulletin board content and mobile apps, to achieve this goal.
    • In addition to Operations functional communications, this role is responsible for communications to the broader organization on safety (weekly safety metrics email, site safety spotlights), Operations innovations/wins and related topics.
    • In conjunction with other communications contributors, this leader and his or her team also will help propel and protect Lubrizol's reputation in markets with a plant presence. This involves supporting plant leadership in their interactions with community stakeholders, preparing templated materials about the company and supporting proactive site communications events—including ribbon cuttings, community meetings, job expansions, local media profiles and other activity to bring visibility to Lubrizol as a community partner.
    • Finally, the role will support local crisis plans and training, crisis incident response, and overall brand reputation in conjunction with the Vice President of Communications and other team partners.
