What You'll Do:

As a Process & Project Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of our innovation, providing technical support for process optimization and troubleshooting to achieve effective and efficient operations at the Calvert City facility. This role will work alongside other salary members as well as operators.  The position reports directly to the Engineering Manager. You'll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing and enhance modern life.

 

What We're Looking For:

  • Monitor and optimize process capabilities for existing products and production processes (quality, cycle times, costs, etc.).
  • Monitor product quality and process capability on a periodic basis.
  • Recommend procedural changes, standardization, equipment modifications or recipe adjustments as needed to improve product quality and process efficiency.
  • Maintain operating procedures and provide training for process operators.
  • Identify and troubleshoot problems within the manufacturing process:  including equipment malfunction, raw material storage/handling, and problems in the conversion of raw materials to finished product.
  • Provide technical guidance to maintain and improve HS&E performance in the plants.
  • Participate and represent the Operations area for audit purposes
  • Identify and provide justification for capital expenditures in support of business objectives or cost justified process modifications.  Support capital project work in area(s) of responsibility.
  • Serve as the liaison between manufacturing and R&D during the development/scale-up of new products/processes.  Coordinate CMA (commercial manufacturing authorization) efforts during process and product development.  Monitor and maximize process capability during scale-up operations.
  • Respond to any customer complaints/issues and implement the appropriate Corrective Action(s)
  • Use and maintain systems associated with the Quality Management System, Process Safety Management, RCMS, etc. as directed.
  • Use the Continuous Improvement Toolbox to drive progress on the plant KPIs and support and promote CI efforts through active participation in 4-step problem solving.
  • Backup in Operations for Shift Supervisor, other Process Engineer and/or Manufacturing Manager.
  • Accountable for personal safety and that of others within the workplace.
  • Decisions relating to training design and delivery requirements.
  • Incumbent will enlist the support of the Quality and Manufacturing Managers and other plant support groups to handle problems
  • Adhere to all RC 14001 and HSES procedures and practices to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and company policies
  • Report all accidents, injuries, spills, releases and near misses immediately to the Supervisor or HSES Department.  Safety suggestions should also be reported.
  • Complete required safety training in the month it is assigned.
  • Comply with ISO 9001:2015/EXCIPACT GMP Quality System

 

Skills That Make a Difference:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering field required.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience including process optimization and project management
  • Ability to multi-task, investigate, summarize / offer creative solutions related to troubleshooting or increasing productivity.
  • Strong work ethic, professional attitude, reliability and focus on safety.
  • Must have high degree of organization and be detail oriented.
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively (both written and verbal) with varying levels of the organization
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must be a self-starter who works well independently and in a team environment
  • Customer service focused
  • Ability to plan, manage and prioritize multiple work assignments
  • Working knowledge of various computer systems including the Microsoft Office suite and SAP or similar software.

 

General PPE:

  • FRC, hard hat, safety glasses, safety footwear, hearing protection and mouth-bit respirator, in addition to any additional PPE required for your area.  Process Engineer must abide by facial hair policy and must be medical approved for ½ face and full-face respirator usage.
