What You'll Do:  

As Senior Director Operations (m/f/d), you'll be at the forefront of our innovation, driving our operational performance in support of our Performance Coatings strategy. You'll lead multiple manufacturing facilities globally, execute on the operations strategy and manage the operations team and organization. You’ll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals, pushing boundaries and challenging the status quo. Your work will directly impact the business success of our Performance Coatings Group.

The position is preferably located in our offices in Brussels or one of our Lubrizol sites in the UK, Germany or Spain.

What We’re Looking For:

• Develop and execute mid- and long-term manufacturing operating plan of the Performance Coatings business unit based on business and corporate operations strategy, such as network optimization, product transfer, strategic investment, etc
• Manage the annual operations planning and management tasks such as objectives setting, budgeting, capital planning, performance review, organization planning, talent review and engagement.
• Manage the global manufacturing performance measured in the areas of HSES, Quality, Delivery, Costs, Capital, Continuous improvement, Asset efficiency, and Organization development.
• Build strong relationships throughout operations as well as improve and implement operations functional excellence management system by working with operations COE functions such as HSE, Quality, Manufacturing Technology, Operations Excellence, etc.
• Act as a partner for and build strong relationships with the Performance Coatings business and commercial teams with a business driven and one team collaborative approach.
• Develop the manufacturing team and organization as highly engaged, with high ethical standard, commitment to HSE, business driven, high performance expectation and functional excellence. Manage, lead, coach and develop the team and talent.

Qualifications That Set You Apart: 

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, chemistry, polymer, material, or relevant engineering field, advanced degree in engineering or MBA is a plus.
• Minimum 15 years manufacturing leadership in the chemical or relevant industry including plant management.
• Experienced at driving team development and performance, ensuring a high level of employee engagement.
• Fluent in English. Other European languages are considered a plus.

• Demonstrated success delivering results in a matrix organization.
• Excellent communication and networking skills. Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills as well as facilitation experience.
• Self-motivated, proactive with the ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced, “high energy”, team-oriented environment.
• Must demonstrate enthusiasm, a sense of urgency, attention to detail, commitment and follow-through while maintaining confidentiality and meeting deadlines.
• Cross culture and international experience.

Considered a plus:

• Experience in large multinational chemicals environment and working globally.
• Experience with surfactant, Polymer, resins manufacture and coatings industry
• Experience at managing different manufacturing facilities/technologies.
• Experience at inspiring/leading large teams.
