As the Lubrizol Advanced Materials business continues its growth trajectory, the role of utilizing external expertise and assets is expanding. This role will be an integral part of supporting business growth plans by enabling use of external partners, capabilities, and assets. As Procurement lead for designated projects, this role will serve as a critical element of business development. 

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develop, implement and monitor the strategy to select, launch, and execute ongoing 3PM relationships. 
  • Working with the 3PM Portfolio Director, represent Procurement interests in make vs. buy and business case decisions on sourcing externally.
  • Identify credible 3PM partners based on needs to meet long-term manufacturing strategy determined by business and operations.
  • Lead the management of supplier portfolios by contract & agreement in order to ensure HSEQ performance, product & service availability to obtain competitive advantage for Lubrizol while meeting the intent of the business case.
  • Serve as contract administrator as needed to resolve escalated quality, cost and supply chain issues in a constructive manner with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Measure and monitor key business measures ensuring the solution meets the needs of the business case and internal partners.
  • Work with 3PM Portfolio and 3PM Operations Directors to implement Best Practices to drive 3PM excellence and work processes
  • Evaluate Supplier Performance and business continuity capabilities in coordination with operations/manufacturing.
  • Adhere to and promote compliance with company policies, practices and procedures.
  • Represent Lubrizol in a professional, legal and ethical manner; maintain integrity of LZ brand

 

Skills, Qualifications, Experience, Special Physical Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field (a combination of a Bachelor’s degree in another field along with extensive experience working with external manufacturing will be considered as well)
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
  • Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good negotiation skills, experience with contract development and contract management
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Detail oriented with experience in Project management
  • Must be able to relate well with individuals at various levels, inside and outside of organization

 

Considered a Plus

  • At least 4 years chemical process experience in pilot plant or manufacturing facilities
  • Familiarity with SAP and experience with data analysis tools such as Excel, BW, Power BI
  • Supervisory experience
  • Six sigma certification or other project management training
  • Advanced degree
