3D Printing, also called Additive Manufacturing, is a fast-growing industry and one of the identified strategic business development areas for Lubrizol. As the 3D Printing Technology Development Engineer, you are responsible for further expanding our organization’s portfolio of 3DP technology/applications capabilities, allowing us to position ourselves as a solution provider to a variety of different industries. You’ll need to understand the key technologies and capabilities required by the market, understand our current portfolio and determine critical development areas, and ultimately validate and select potential partners to close that gap. 

   

Essential Job Functions, Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Lead new material development projects to expand Lubrizol’s 3DP portfolio
  • Lead post-processing technology development projects and build strong working-relationship with Lubrizol’s strategic partners
  • Provide technical guidance for customers to develop new applications with Lubrizol 3DP TPU products
  • Provide pragmatic solutions for customer issues or complaints through evaluation and guidance
  • Provide technical data, reports, and communications to internal and external stakeholders frequently
  • Support sales and marketing efforts to expand Lubrizol’s position within 3DP industry
  • Support the Account/ Business Managers through the development and delivery of technical data and presentation material
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of safety awareness

 

Education/ Certification

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Material Science, Polymer Engineering

 

Experience and Skills:

  • Strong data analysis skills, ability to understand complex problems and provide creative solutions
  • Proficiency with CAD software (Solidworks, AutoCAD, etc.) considered a plus
  • Fundamental understanding of polymer science and related topics
  • Ability to do hands-on work including 3D printer operations and various lab tests
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong drive for results in a team environment
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
