What You'll Do:

The Lubrizol Corporation has an exciting opportunity for a Regional Product Manager who will support the Engineered Polymers business. As a Regional Product Manager, you are responsible for the profitability and growth of the Engineered Polymers Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) regional product line. You will create and implement the overall product line strategy through collaboration across business functions and segments and ensure the continued growth and financial performance of your product lines. The Regional Product Manager owns all aspects of the product lifecycle from product conception to eventual rationalization. Accountabilities include oversight of the profitability of the product lines through various cost reduction efforts, regulatory compliance, communication of quality issues and resolution, change management, influence in product development projects, and knowledge of competitive products of the market. Financial acuity regarding understanding and developing reports on the profitability of the product line is of key importance.

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • Develop regional product line strategies that maintain alignment with the business unit, market, and technology strategies
    • Manage product portfolio and product life cycle to maximize financial performance and optimize complexity of existing product line
    • Champion product line through proactive communication and continuous improvement to change management process
    • Ensure product line project portfolio and innovation support strategy are properly aligned with commercial strategy
    • Collaborate with the global product management team on global product line strategy development
  • Own product line positioning and product pricing strategy for new product launches and current business within the assigned region
    • Engage with commercial team to help develop annual budget for product line and drive regional capacity planning
    • Proactively identify underperforming product lines within the platform and take appropriate actions to improve performance and reduce NWSM
    • Collaborate with marketing on competitive intelligence programs and the corresponding counter strategies to maintain value, product and price leadership positions in the marketplace
  • Align business needs with operations and supply chain to prioritize and maximize service capabilities to customers while identifying ways to minimize overall cost position and risk for obsolescence
  • Collaboratively implement and grow products and technology from strategic external partnerships

 

Skills That Make a Difference: 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, chemistry or engineering preferred
  • MBA or similar advanced degree considered a plus
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in operations, product management, technical or procurement
  • Ability to work with teams to coordinate and analyze problems and data and then implement action plans to correct and optimize issues
  • Demonstrated regional strategy development with regional execution. Global strategy development considered a plus
  • Financial acumen and quantitative analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency with analysis using tools such as SAP, Power BI, Vendavo, Excel preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
