Position Summary:

The Performance Coatings Group / Beauty & Home QA/QC Improvement Manager is accountable for supporting test methods and lab equipment within the global PCG/B&H QC labs while driving continuous improvement in our quality KPI’s and testing methodologies. The position interacts with the manufacturing plants, Research & Development, Process Technology, the Performance Coatings Group, Beauty & Home and other Lubrizol Advanced Materials business units. This role is part of The Lubrizol Corporation enterprise-wide global quality team.
Reports to:
- Global Quality Manager, LZAM QA/QC Improvement Team Leader
- Dotted line reporting to Global Quality Manager; Lubrizol Life Science Beauty, Health, and Home
Responsibilities:
- Key member of the LZAM Global QA/QC Improvement team and the Global Quality Team as a whole
- Lead the PCG/B&H sub team comprised of stakeholders from the PCG/B&H QC labs.
- Identify and prioritize areas for improvement that will have a positive impact on testing in terms of efficiency and reliability for PCG and B&H products.
- Assist with significant customer complaint investigations and resolution.
- Support quality assessments for new product commercialization and product transfers; internal and external manufacturing
- Define a process for measurement traceability of critical tests.
- Expand/Improve current Measurement Audit Program to analyze the variation present in the results of each type of testing and test equipment, enabling the development of acceptance criteria and transparency of results between different QC Labs
- Define a process for analytical standards selection, usage, and monitoring for acceptance.
- Specify requirements for the adequacy of the laboratory technical procedures (test and calibration)
- Organize best practice sharing for analytical technologies.
- Specify requirements for the competency of the laboratory personnel.
- ~25% travel globally.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- BS in chemistry or a field technically relevant to the specialty chemical industry supplying performance ingredients to pharmaceutical, personal care, medical or industrial markets.
- 5 - 10 years’ experience in a quality assurance, ISO or GMP leadership role in the specialty chemicals, food, or cosmetic ingredient manufacturing industries.
- Experience at team leadership, driving improvement and influencing people to achieve results.
- Practical experience at leading change, understanding challenges, and influencing culture within operations.
- Good communication skills to build connections globally.
Considered a plus:
- Detailed knowledge of PCG/B&H QC testing and equipment.
- Experience with the Lubrizol PCG/B&H QC labs globally.
- Experience in SAP, Business Warehouse, LIMS, or other enterprise management software considered a plus.
