Our Life Science Finished Goods team is enabling our customers and their consumers to experience innovative, high performing, and clinically proven finished products uniquely designed and customized for the Beauty and premium skin care markets.  As a project manager and key business member of our Finished Goods team, this role works collaboratively across identified external customers and internal resources to plan, lead, drive, and execute customer focused projects, on time and on budget.  Managing fast moving new to market products can be tricky – in order to succeed here, you need to: be comfortable and effective at communicating across a matrix of internal and external teams, own a responsibility for positive business outcomes, lead and navigate during moments of uncertainty, work effectively across technical, manufacturing, and commercial teams.  Your hands on prior experiences using formal project management tools balanced with practical approaches and creativity in problem solving will help ensure these new formulations in their final packaging delight end consumers.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Serve as the leader of “matrix” project teams accountable for project results and for the implementation of and adherence to all relevant work processes, focused on personal care finished good projects.
  • Coordinate and communicate both internally and externally with cross-functional teams (Technical, R&D, Operations, Logistics, Quality, Regulatory etc.).
  • Understand and consider the value proposition of each project at both the customer and the end consumer to help shape and inform the quality, time, scope and cost of the project charter.  
  • Develop detailed project work plans and critical path timelines for milestones considering resource needs and any external constraints (packaging, tolling, customer inputs, etc).  Negotiate with resource managers; resolve identified resource limitations.
  • Prepare and maintain risk assessments with appropriate contingency plans working to minimize and accommodate unforeseen events and changes.  Effectively use executive stakeholder and change management practices when required.
  • Demonstrate independent decision making and appropriate influence management skills.
  • Communicate effectively to business leadership team on a routine basis on project status, milestones, schedule, and budget adherence.
  • Maintain and improve strong operating mechanisms, including tools and processes, to manage and improve the execution of assigned projects.

 

Skills That Make a Difference:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Bachelor’s in Science degree, preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years professional experience as a project leader/owner managing multiple fast paced projects simultaneously from inception to commercialization
  • Minimum 5 years experience working within a matrix organization, ideally globally
  • Strong fundamental knowledge of project management principles (PMP certification is a plus)
  • Ability to utilize project management software, such as Microsoft Project
  • Outstanding organizational, communication, and project leadership abilities
  • A hands on approach that is motivated by execution/business results while respecting interpersonal relationships
  • Knowledge of consumer packaging is very desirable
