Job Summary:

• The North America Logistics Procurement Manager for Ocean Freight is responsible for the procurement and contracting of all North America export ISO, FCL and LCL transportation. 

Essential Job Functions:

• Responsible for annual freight bidding project (s) encompassing all North America export outbound ISO, FCL and LCL freight.
• Negotiate to identify the most cost-effective, safe, and reliable carriers for Lubrizol’s transportation network. 
• Work closely with regional peers on ocean freight strategy and global procurement activities.
• Collaborate with legal team on ocean freight contracts and management of the contracts.
• Utilizing past industry experience, Liaise with Logistics Operations team regarding carrier performance and carrier service level agreements.
• Attend core carrier reviews and provide input.
• Keep updated on overall market conditions/trends and offer solutions.
• Provide carrier routing information and rates to Transportation Master Data Group.
• Create and maintain ocean route guides.
• File carrier claims when required.
• Other projects as assigned. 

Skills, Qualifications, Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Logistics or Supply Chain
• Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated operations experience working at an FCL or ISO carrier.
• Minimum of 5 years ocean freight procurement experience with proven results.
• Experience with negotiating and writing ocean freight contracts.
• Must possess superior communication and presentation skills. The North America Logistics Procurement Manager - Ocean Freight will interface with internal team members and external customer and business partners on a regular basis.
• Takes initiative on assignments and will seek out additional responsibilities.
• Willingness to embrace change.
• Be able to analyze data to make strategic decisions. 

Considered a plus:

• SAP/S4 experience
• Freight forwarding and customs broker experience.
