We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Business Development Manager for our Engineered Materials market to join our team in North America. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the growth of the Engineered Materials market segment within North America, developing and executing business strategies, and managing the product portfolio to meet customer demands as well as achieve sales targets. This is a highly visible role, where your success will be dependent on your innovation and drive. 

This role would be based at our Lubrizol Advanced Materials headquarters in Brecksville, OH, and follow a hybrid working model.

What you will do:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business plan to drive growth in the Engineered Materials market segment, working closely with the NA Business Director to align with overall company goals.
  • Identify potential customers and initiate conversation to understand their needs and offer product solutions.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify key trends and opportunities within the market segment and develop strategies to capitalize on them.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers in the market segment, understanding their needs and driving solutions that exceed their expectations.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams, including R&D, sales, and marketing, to ensure the product portfolio meets customer needs and is well positioned in the market.
  • Monitor industry and competitor trends, identifying threats and opportunities for the company, and recommending strategies to address them.
  • Develop and manage the pricing strategy for the product portfolio, working with the sales team to ensure profitability while maintaining competitive pricing.
  • Lead the development and execution of marketing campaigns and sales initiatives to drive demand for the product portfolio.
  • Work closely with the NA Business Director and Finance team to develop and manage the budget for the market segment.

 

What you need:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or business-related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a business development or market segment management role, preferably in the polymer industry.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful business strategies and driving growth in a market segment.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in market research and analysis, forecasting, and pricing strategy development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross functional team environment.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
