What You'll Do:

As a Personal Care Technician, you'll be at the forefront of our innovation, focusing on supporting the group’s scientists in the application development, formulation development and product performance testing required to deliver differentiated technologies to the cleansing, hair care, and skin care markets.  You'll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing and enhance modern life.

What We're Looking For:

• Independently and reproducibly perform laboratory experiments, prepare formulations, and conduct performance evaluations in accordance with procedures.
• Properly document experimental results and understand and perform routine formulation calculations and data analysis in excel and similar software platforms
• Effectively organize, interpret, and communicate results to scientists and technical managers.
• Efficiently manage time to complete required laboratory work in a timely fashion.
• Effectively work in a multidisciplinary team-oriented environment.
• Perform routine administrative and technical support functions necessary to ensure the smooth day-to-day operations of the lab. 
• Safely operate laboratory test equipment and assist in its maintenance.
• Actively participate in department safety programs and ensure compliance with safety procedures and good housekeeping practices.

Skills That Make a Difference:

• Minimum of a high school degree.  An Associate’s degree in a science related field is preferred.
• Minimum two years of experience working in an industrial laboratory environment.
• Ability to work independently and safely in the lab under the direction of scientists.
• Understanding of the handling of chemicals and safe general laboratory work practices.
• Strong organizational skills, including time management and detailed record-keeping.
• Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Office products. 

• Good communication (written and verbal) and basic math skills.
• Ability to work in a laboratory environment requiring standing for extended periods of time while operating standard lab equipment and instrumentation.

Considered a Plus:

• Minimum 5 years of experience working in an industrial laboratory environment.
• Prior experience in personal care product formulation and related performance evaluations.
• Knowledge of ingredients commonly used in personal care (i.e., polymers, surfactants, emulsifiers, emollients, peptides, etc.)
• Knowledge of Beauty regional trends, product formats, and customer base.
