Summary of Responsibilities

As the Program Manager, you will be accountable for planning, coordinating, and documenting all aspects of multiple strategic Engineered Materials innovation projects. You will work closely with leaders from all functional departments to define project scope, budget and resource requirements, identify and secure external development partners as necessary, and establish and meet milestones to ensure success. The program manager will report to the Director of Global Business Development.


What You Will Do

  • Lead or support the development of business cases on assigned projects, translating business needs into project goals.
  • Define and track results expected from each project in terms of scope, time, risk, quality, and cost.
  • Develop detailed project work plans, timelines, resource requirements, budgets, and risk mitigation pathways.
  • Work closely with resource managers to resolve conflicts.
  • Identify and overcome internal technical capability gaps through formal collaborations with external developmental partners, including universities and businesses.
  • Lead the “matrix” project team in overall project execution, providing daily guidance to team members.
  • Prepare for and lead the team through formal stage-gate project reviews.
  • Establish metrics and strong operating mechanisms to track progress, proactively identify and address obstacles and risk.
  • Chair and coordinate the timely communication of project status to key stakeholders.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned, as the organization and business evolves.
  • Champion project management excellence across the organization through the regular use of best practices.



What You Will Need

  • Bachelors of Science degree or higher in chemistry, chemical engineering, physics, or biology
  • Minimum 5+ year experience in leading complex, cross-functional, innovation projects within the materials industry
  • Demonstrated success in building working relationships across all functions and geographic regions and influencing with indirect authority
  • Strong inner drive and independent decision-making skills
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time, domestically and internationally
  • PMP certification and MBA or equivalent commercial experience preferred
