Summary of Responsibilities:

This incumbent is to oversee Lubrizol global I/E operations, optimize internal operation model with constant benchmarking with external industrial peers. The primary goal of the role is to ensure Lubrizol global Import & Export operation generates maximum value in meeting & exceeding customer expectations at optimal cost, thus becoming Lubrizol’s competitive edge. Key responsibilities include:

• Streamline SOPs in I/E logistics related steps and hand offs, integrating logistics vendors of all modes and Lubrizol in-house logistics operation team to the same platform with aligned business processes as well as a result-oriented mindset.
• Define Service Level Agreement with associated logistics vendors based on business requirement and generate performance metrics to measure actual vs. agreement in collaborating with logistics COE team.
• Liaise with Trade Compliance team to ensure associated requirements are embedded in Lubrizol I/E processes, and all personnel involved (such as brokers) execute them consistently.
• Sponsor Continuous Improvement Projects to improve service level, reduce the cycle time and operation cost.
• Establish a global Import & Export team network, share & leverage the best practices through pre-established cadence. Standardize the work processes wherever possible.
• Seek synergies & improvement areas wholistically by connecting shipping region to demand regions.
• Build up I/E knowledge repository, design I/E training curriculum to create a talent pipeline in the global operation community.
• Evaluate the SAP process effectiveness and provide input to logistics COE team for system enhancement or bringing in supplemental new tool / technology
• A key member of Global logistics Sourcing Council. Provide input (operation requirements, vendor performance etc.) to logistics procurement team to define vendor sourcing strategy.
• Provide functional leadership to regional Import & Export operation team, through training, tools & process, consultation, and proactive governance. Directly lead a small global I/E SME team to achieve business goals as indicated such.

Requirements: 

Knowledge, technical/professional skill:

• Bachelor’s degree or above
• A profound understanding of the logistics industry - inland haulage, customs broker, freight forwarder, ocean market in particular.
• Familiar with SAP transportation module.
• Knowledge in Import & export regulations and documentation requirements.
• Data mining skills and continuous improvement mindset.
• Ability to work across different cultural environment.
• A proven effective people leader
