What You'll Do:

As a Senior Process Improvement Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of our innovation, driving capital projects as well as process improvements throughout the Bowling Green, Ohio facility. You'll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing and enhance modern life. Your work will directly impact improvements to our processes to meet the changing needs of the business.

 

What We're Looking For:

  • Leads and/or supports plant continuous improvement activities and supports the capital plan for the facility.
  • Optimizes manufacturing processes using statistical analyses, design of experiment, and six sigma methodologies.
  • Performs process calculations and equipment sizing leading to specifications.
  • Works with engineering manager to manage site capital program.
    • Assists in developing the annual capital plan.
    • Oversees capital projects.
  • Champions and act as a resource for process safety activities and concerns. Partner with operations and maintenance to identify technology gaps & continuous improvement opportunities, including:
    • Throughput optimization 
    • Reduction of cycle times
    • Efficiency improvements with heating/cooling systems
    • Yield improvements
  • Develops engineering solutions to process failures and other quality problems that adversely affect customer service, such as throughput, quality, cost or regulatory compliance issues.
  • Assists with external, internal, plant-wide and departmental Environmental Health, Safety & Security audits.
  • Leads Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and/or Failure Mode Effects Analyses (FMEA) using established tools to identify solutions, implement corrective actions to reduce risks and minimize challenges.
  • Assists with PHAs as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Skills That Make a Difference:

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Engineering
  • Knowledge and experience in chemical manufacturing processes
  • Experience in an industrial production environment
  • Possesses in-depth process technology and continuous improvement skill sets helping to establish credibility with the operations team. Experienced knowledge of material properties, testing methods and process equipment.
  • Application of statistical techniques and software for data analysis and interpretation
  • 5+ years of experience, 10 years preferred.

  • PSM experience
