Summary of Responsibilities:

The Bowling Green site is a key manufacturing location and serves the Beauty and Home. The Plant Manager is accountable for safety, Operations Execellence and Cyber Security.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Lead and exemplify a culture where ‘safety is a core value’ is a true belief and ensure safety is the first consideration.
  • Provide leadership for operational excellence programs, including continuous improvement, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive action.
  • Manage and lead the site central functions including safety, quality, manufacturing,  logistics, procurement, maintenance, capital engineering and finance.
  • Promote a plant culture that is responsive to the manufacturing environment and business needs through teamwork and personal accountability.
  • Oversee talent management and employee development and promote constructive employee relations.
  • Ensure site compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure alignment between the plant goals and the different business strategies
  • Work closely with marketing, sales, and the process technology teams to support and contribute to new product development, scale-up, and product transfers.
  • Ensure both plant and Lubrizol systems/standards are followed and improved.


Skills, Qualifications, Experience, Physical Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (Chemical preferred).
  • Minimum of 7-10 manufacturing leadership experience.
  • Experience of leading a smaller site is beneficial.
  • Can effectively work in a matrix organization.
  • Effective communication and networking skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills as well as facilitation experience.
  • Self-motivated, proactive with the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, “high energy", team oriented environment
  • Must demonstrate enthusiasm, a sense of urgency, attention to detail, commitment and follow-through while maintaining confidentiality and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong/structured problem solving skills.
