Process Technology Engineer (Chemical Manufacturing)
Travel: Up to 15%, domestic and international
Job Type: Full-time, on-site
The Blackley Process Technology (PT) team works in close collaboration with Chemical Design & Synthesis and Applications groups and is responsible for developing robust, safe, and scalable chemical processes. These processes enable the transition of new products from invention through to full‑scale manufacture and provide ongoing technical expertise to support and optimise manufacturing operations.
We are seeking an experienced individual to join the PT team. This individual will provide technical leadership in process development, scale‑up, and manufacturing support, applying deep scientific expertise to drive projects forward in line with evolving business priorities. The role also includes mentoring less‑experienced scientists, contributing to technology strategy, and supporting continuous improvement
How You’ll Make an Impact
As a Process Technology Engineer at Lubrizol, you will help transform innovative chemistry into safe, scalable, and commercially successful manufacturing processes. Working alongside global research and manufacturing teams, you will play a key role in bringing new products from the laboratory to full-scale production.
- Lead laboratory-based process development activities for new and existing chemical processes.
- Provide technical leadership in scaling up processes from laboratory to full-scale manufacture.
- Partner with manufacturing teams to resolve complex processing challenges.
- Use data-driven approaches to improve quality, safety, and process robustness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business goals.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and process technology strategy.
Required Qualifications That Enable Your Success
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Significant experience (typically around five years) in industrial manufacturing or process development.
- Hands-on experience with chemical process development and scale-up.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
