Job Type: Full-time / On-site

Shift + Hours: 1st Shift – 4-10’s format. (7am-5pm).

 

How You’ll Make an Impact

As a Maintenance Electrical & Instrumentation Technician you'll be at the forefront of our innovation, driving specialty chemical solutions forward. You'll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing, and enhance modern life.

 

The I&E technician will test, calibrate, install and repair instrumentation and electrical equipment related to manufacturing processes for our Avon Lake Facility. Responsibilities will also include troubleshooting and repair of equipment to support continuous production needs.

 

In this role, you will:

 

  • Ensure safe operations by observing all Health, Safety, Environmental and Security (HSE&S) procedures.
  • Understand the general concepts of ISO 9001 and cosmetic ingredient GMP
  • Installation, Repair, and Calibration of a variety of Instrumentation (Pressure, Temperature, Flow, and Level) used in Process Manufacturing and Laboratory Areas.
  • Installation, Repair, and Calibration of Control Valves, Actuators, and positioners (pneumatic and electric).
  • Maintenance, Repair, and Calibration of Electronic Scales and Process Feeder Systems
  • Maintenance and repair of electrical systems; motors, breakers, drives, etc.
  • Troubleshoot and test control loops including tuning and calibration of controllers.
  • Configuration and repair maintenance on DCS and PLC systems.
  • Update required documentation for ISO/PSM and CMMS system as needed.
  • Work with Vendors and Suppliers to specify and procure parts or replacements. 
  • Be part of a group call in rotation and available to work overtime as needed.

 

 

Required Qualifications that Enable Your Success

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Journeyman in Electronic Instrumentation (equivalent education, training and experience considered).
    • Alternate skill set: Journeyman Electrician with electronic instrumentation/controls experience. (Equivalent experience and education considered).
    • Alternate skill set: HVAC Technician with automation/controls experience.
  • Industrial Instrumentation background and experience.
  • Experienced in DCS and PLC Hardware, Installation and Maintenance.
  • Computer proficiency in software related to the instrumentation trade.
  • Ability to work independently or as a team member.
  • Take responsibility for own safety and work with minimal supervision.
  • Response to off-shift emergencies, scheduled and unplanned overtime as required.
  • Respirator fit required (facial hair limitations)
  • Ability to work at heights on ladders or man lifts and in awkward positions on or around industrial equipment.
  • Ability to lift as much as 70 lbs. using proper lifting techniques; (45 lbs. repetitive lifting)
  • Ability to operate manlifts, lift trucks, portable or fixed cranes; rigging equipment for removal and servicing.
  • Ability to be trained on SAP to a high level of accuracy for data entry.

 

Preferred Qualifications that Drive you Forward

  • Associate degree
  • Experience with VFD’s
    • Majority are ABB
    • Repair, Install and Troubleshooting
    • Experience with ABB software
  • Experience with Pneumatic Instrumentation
  • Experience with installation, troubleshooting and repair of UPS systems
  • Experience with generators
  • Experience in fire alarm system troubleshooting, repair and testing
  • Experience working in hazardous locations
  • Experience in conduit layout, bending, and installation
  • Experience with SAP
