Quality Technician

Purpose

Responsible for conducting and optimizing testing procedures during manufacturing processes to ensure that products and handling comply with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

Carry out responsibilities in accordance with plant safety, quality and environmental guidelines

Work safely in all circumstances

Safe and correct use of chemicals according to local environmental and safety regulations

Reducing near misses and accidents (first aid, ,...) & reducing the impact

Maintain an acceptable level of housekeeping

Making control rounds towards safety and housekeeping

Cleaning and preparing production lab-equipment to obtain reliable test results

Ensuring test equipment is calibrated and working correctly.

Ensure optimal operation of laboratory equipment through proper use

Minimize downtime of laboratory equipment

Ensuring production is not hindered by quality testing procedures.

Follow the correct procedures when carrying out work

Inspecting/Analysing products in accordance to quality and safety standards and decide whether the products are within or out of tolerance

Ensuring goods and products comply with company standards as well as Federal and State law.

Prioritise and perform QC tests on in-process, finished and raw materials and report as prescribed e.g. in the SAP system and analysis requests

Reliable and complete test results within the expected time frame:

• Reduced quantity of out of spec products

• Reduction in the cost of waste
• Reducing environmental impact

Executing all kinds of production-related tasks in accordance with the applicable procedures

Developing and maintaining company inspection reports.

Reporting production-related deviations including mechanical defects, quality deviations, 

technical failures and, where possible, taking corrective action

Apply correct administration:

• Fill in all forms clearly and correctly in accordance with ISO/Safety/Environment and other existing programmes
• Ensure timely registration of production-related data through the appropriate channels

Availability of laboratory supplies

Increased efficiency of corrective actions

Complete database for statistical analysis

Identifying possible areas for improvement in quality control processes.
