Summary
As a Logistics Supervisor, you'll be at the forefront of our innovation, managing a team of Logistics Specialists, as well as Trucking companies, Warehouses/Terminals and Customs Brokers. You'll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing and enhance modern life. The supervisor will be responsible for addressing escalations, service provider performance metrics, providing support with booking management and issue resolution as well as individual team member performance. This role is vital to the success of the Global Logistics group. The role lies with Customer Service, External service providers and Supply Chain Representatives to ensure that we meet our customers’ expectations and ship materials in a timely manner. The Logistics Supervisor will be the primary contact for transportation and warehouse-related tasks linked to import/export shipments.
Essential Job Functions
- Manage a team of 3 FTE's and one Contractor
- Responsible for Logistics cost center management and for AOP process
- Directly responsible to manage all Mexico's warehouses and bulk storage terminals
- Schedule all carrier reviews and manage KPIs
- Attend S&OE meetings and collaborate with SCP and Commercial
- Lead all Mexico productivity initiatives
- Redesign and implement freight bill audit and payment for Mexico
- Responsible for Mexico Logistics KPIs and improvement plans
- Collaborate with Logistics Procurement on all Mexico logistics procurement initiatives
- Lead Polaris startup for Logistics
- Lead project to improve import logistics and streamline the current process of how things are handled at Laredo
- Lead Improvements on the Governance of the Customs Broker & performance measuremen
Experience and Skills
SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SPECIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) in Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field with 3+ years of experience or in lieu of a degree, 12 years of experience in Logistics or Supply chain related activities.
- Experience with chemical companies is preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge in performing logistics activities.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and quickly develop a solution.
- Experience with carrier relationship management and performance evaluations.
- Strong understanding of the modal transport market.
- Strong working knowledge and history of using computers and programs specific to logistics (SAP, TMS, WMS) and to general business management (MS Excel, Word).
- Strong in analytical skills and abilities.
- Able to use data to support decision-making and develop solutions to present to leaders.
- Outstanding in communication skills and ability to communicate with various levels and functions within the organization, including global team members and third parties.
- Able to support process improvement initiatives while balancing daily responsibilities.
- Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision.
CONSIDERED A PLUS:
- Degree in Business, Logistics or Supply Chain
- SAP experience.
- Experience specific in the 3PL (transportation/warehousing) industry.
- Prior experience managing people.
