Lubrizol, a Berkshire Hathaway company, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager HSES UK, QHSES Site Manager Hazelwood to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Manager HSES UK, you will play a pivotal role in leading a dynamic HSES team, supporting technically complex manufacturing and R&D operations for UK shared services and EMEAI R&D sites. You will be a key member of our UK senior management team, directing risk management initiatives company-wide. Your expertise in legislation and regulatory compliance will provide clear direction to senior management on the impact of current and potential legislative impacts on our UK operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Build, maintain, and provide leadership to a dynamic HSES team, ensuring best-in-class risk management and HSE performance across all UK operations.
• Liaise with legislators to provide clear direction on UK legislative challenges and impacts.
• Collaborate with the Corporation's European and Global senior HSE team to foster sharing of best practices and a global approach to asset and people protection.
• Assist plants in implementing Corporate Strategy and regional initiatives.
• Contribute to the identification and management of risks associated with health, safety, and environmental matters through deep relationships with business leaders.
• Lead the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of management systems to demonstrate best-in-class risk management and HSES performance.
• Provide strategic and tactical support for UK-specific issues and organized shared resources with the region regarding all R&D and technical sites.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Graduate or post-graduate in science or engineering with additional recognized HSE qualifications.
• Extensive experience in complex plant and R&D environments, preferably in the oil, chemical, or pharmaceutical industries.
• Proven track record in leading senior management teams in the design and implementation of safety programs focused on key risks.
• Strong expertise in designing, implementing, and auditing robust and effective management systems.
• Excellent leadership skills, building and developing high-performing HSE teams.
• Ability to work effectively in a complex matrix structure.
