Lubrizol have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Apprentice to join the UK Finance team for a 3- year programme, providing support to finance professionals and the wider business.  We offer a comprehensive training package and you will work towards completion of a professional accountancy qualification, all whilst earning as you learn!

The role:

You will provide support to the Accounts Payable team, using industry recognised accounting software and IT applications for data input, retrieval and analysis. You will also be developing technical and business knowledge to build a solid foundation for your future career in finance. You will be given the opportunity to train at a level that matches your technical experience as you progress through the AAT qualification. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate good attention to detail and have a flexible approach to their work.

What you will be doing:

• Accounts Payable support: supplier invoice entry, query resolution and payments.
• Travel and expense claim processing
• Journal entry and account reconciliations
• Organising data and information following established procedures
• Contributing to work plans, seeking process improvements
• Assisting in the co-ordination of the day to day office operation
• Attending regular department meetings
• Taking accountability for your role within the team
• Managing concurrent activities and projects effectively to meet tight deadlines

Who we are looking for:

•  You must have or be on track to achieve 3 A-levels (or equivalent) at grade C or above, one of which must be in Maths, Accounting, Finance, Business studies or Economics
• Have a minimum of grade C/4 in GCSE Maths and English

• Eagerness to learn and develop in different parts of finance
• Be comfortable with and interested in working with numbers
• Good written and verbal communication skills, including telephone skills
• Accurate data entry skills and keen attention to detail
• Good general organisational skills, including planning and prioritisation
• A good working knowledge of Microsoft packages, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
