Summary of the Role:

Lead, establish and maintain plant & utilities instrumentation, systems & improvements in order to support manufacturing activities while ensuring compliance to all HSES and legal requirements & developing talent of a team.

 

Responsibilities / Accountabilities:  

  • Supervise, Operate & maintain the Instrument & automation installations to ensure the reliable, efficient & cost-effective operations & manufacturing activities on site.
  • Establish and maintain SOPs for all the Instrumentation activities & installations and continually improve the practices.
  • Manage and improve Siemens PCS 7 Based DCS and other Siemens systems company wide
  • Sustain and Improve Maintenance & calibration procedures, quality & ISO systems for the overall instrumentation on the site.
  • Effective spares management for instrumentation.
  • Maintain suppliers’ documents, datasheets, design documents, test certificates etc. for all instruments and systems.
  • Plan as well as Track/Monitor Opex expenses against budgeted.
  • Train, guide & support the E & I Officer for Installation, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting & calibration of various Instruments and Control system.
  • Lead and execute activities related to detailing of control valve selection and sizing, orifice selection & sizing, loop drawing, logic diagrams, cause and effect diagrams, P & I Ds, Relay logic in improvement & capex projects.
  • Maintenance of all Fire Alarm Systems, Access control, CCTVs
  • Accountable for overall Preparation of Annual / Monthly instrumentation plan, ensuring breakdown / preventive maintenance attending in time.
  • Monitor and maintain all Legal requirements related to licenses, permits, calibration, testing etc.
  • Lead the project activities for instrument engineering, installation, commissioning & trial of instrument installation on site including master SCADA/DCS. Follow LZ corporate standards and guidelines in installation and operation of control systems including PI server.

Education / Certification:

BE Instrumentation and Control

 

Experience and Skills:  

  • Minimum 8-10 years’ experience in chemical and petrochemical plants.
  • Exposure to detailed Control system activities DCS/PLC/SCADA basic philosophy, architecture, logic development, troubleshooting, FAT/SAT. Experience on Siemens PCS 7 DCS/SCADA system is preferred.
  • Capabilities of Downloading and uploading the program on DCS, PLC systems, logic analysis & troubleshoot
  • Knowledge of Electrical and control cabling, Manufacturing automation (various conveying and packing systems)
  • Hands on experience on instrument maintenance of various global make, Emerson, E&H, Siemens
  • Knowledge of industry best practices for Preventive and Predictive maintenance related to instrument & systems.
  • Well conversant with various codes, protocols and languages for instrumentation.
  • Knowledge of industry best safety practices, SIL levels, HAZOP, as well as legal requirement for plant instruments.
  • Knowledge of establishing and integrating OT/IT network
