Job Title: Site Logistics Supervisor

Location: Zhuhai, Guangdong China

 

Summary of Responsibilities:

 

Manage the site logistics activities and inbound & outbound logistics for Lubrizol Additive Zhuhai Plant. The scope includes Road Transportation, Warehousing, ISO tank yard, Import and Export, Marine and Tank Terminal etc.  Ensure Lubrizol logistics operation comply with all applicable company standards and applicable rules & regulations in the country. Drive continuous improvement in safety, service, quality and productivity performance.

 

  • Create & own the site logistics operation procedures, including but not limited to inventory / vehicle / facility management etc. Make sure the procedures are well documented for internal / external audit and ISO certification etc.
  • Ensure that the 3PL operation manuals are up to date, controlled, revised according to business needs. Benchmark and apply industry best practices.
  • Ensure all the logistics vendors and contractors follow the safety requirements on site.
  • Implement vendor management programs in terms of standards, KPIs and escalation process etc. Engage 3rd party logistics (3PL) services providers from issue resolving to systematic win-win solutions. 
  • Own the logistics performance metrics in the responsible area. Investigate, analyze the deviations, and identify actions / lead continuous improvement projects to improve the bottom line.
  • Be an effective project leader to support plant growth initiative, implement innovative site logistics management solutions.
  • Liaise with manufacturing and site planners / schedulers to define the cross-functional workflow to maximize the operation efficiency
  • Represent logistics in Plant Management Team and provide logistics solutions wherever possible to address operational challenges.
  • Maintain a business contact window with local government authorities, such as customs, Marine Safety Administration etc.
  • Being an effective people leader, develop talents, provide coaching and motivate overall team performance

 

COMMUNICATION / CONTACTS:

 

Internal:  Manufacturing, Site EHS, Production Planning / Scheduling, Customer Service, Logistics Purchasing.

 

External:  3PL vendors, customers, government authorities

 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge, technical/professional skill:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above.
  • A min 5 years of hands on logistics experience, chemical industry is preferred.
  • Vendor management of Freight forwarders, customs brokers, Warehouse and Transportation.
  • A people leader with proven record.
  • Continuous Improvement Project Management know-how is required.
  • A good command of communication and influencing skill.
