Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Perform diversified extrusion work, including many types of active and standard single lumen tubes involving standard resins with close tolerances and standard operational requirements.
  • Set-up and operate various extruders as required, working in accordance with company and customer specifications, where standard methods are available.
  • Follow sales work orders, create production work orders and interpret company and customer drawings, sketches, and similar information in order to determine extrusion requirements necessary to produce standard types of parts/components having  close tolerance and dimensions.
  • Set-up and operate full range of extrusion equipment such as extruders, dryers, water tanks, pullers, puller/cutters, conveyors, winders crossheads, air injectors, etc.
  • Utilize all types of precision measuring instruments and tools to check and extrude items to exacting dimensional requirements.
  • Move materials as necessary in performance of duties.
  • Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials and unusual conditions to Supervisor.
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean, safe, and orderly condition
  • Maintains all quality standards
  • Knowledge of cutting techniques and tubing material shrinkage.
  • Prepare extrusion room for the next several days run.
  • Perform standard extruder set-up and operating duties from customer specifications where close tolerances are specified.
  • Utilize cutting and spooling equipment both on line and off line to obtain quality finished work, working in accordance with company/customer specifications, following standard procedures..
  • Maintain and monitor extruder line action and where necessary make adjustments to obtain specified close tolerances required on all types of products composed of various resins and configurations.


Technical Requirements:


  • Basic math skills – able to calculate gross, tare, and net weights
  • Computer skills – must be able to use email system (Outlook), Internet training (Active Learner).
  • Experience in plastics industry is preferred but not required.
  • Must have good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to work well with others in a team environment.


Educational Requirements:


  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)



This role is typically Monday - Friday.
