Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Ensures the implementation of a detailed, task level, day to day Health, Safety, Environmental and Security Health program, utilizing the HSES work process, standards and procedures.  With guidance from the HSES Manager, ensures all plant needs are covered in the program.
  • Initiates requests for change to the HSES Manager to improve the best knowledge and experiences.
  • Ensures that the health, safety, environmental & security aspects of the way work is done are adequate and applied to achieve HSES performance goals.
  • Acts as a plant resource for related health, safety, environmental & security information on procedures, guidelines and standards.
  • Technician contact for health, safety, environmental & security issues.
  • Coaches teams and individuals on health, safety, environmental & security related tasks and activities.
  • Assists in developing and achieving area or plant health, safety, environmental & security goals.
  • Ensures compliance tasks are completed.
  • Performs / assists in the health, safety, environmental & security monitoring, data collection, analyzing and reporting for the plant
  • As required participates in the health, safety, environmental & security related reviews and projects.
  • Participates in the schedules and performance of audits in the health, safety, environmental & security related areas
  • As required conducts and documents investigations of incidents and ensures follow up actions to prevent re-occurrences that are addressed


Technical Requirements:


  • At least 5 years of manufacturing experience with an understanding of how work gets done in a manufacturing setting
  • Good communication skills across all levels of the organization and outside vendors and contractors
  • Really cares about doing things right and protecting individuals and our license to operate
  • Practical yet understands the HSES requirements
  • Able to coordinate activities within large groups
  • Understands and follows policy so that they work in conjunction with each other
  • Creative in developing plant level programs (realistic yet not cumbersome)
  • Able to identify the true root cause of an unplanned event and identify robust solutions to prevent recurrence
  • Willing and able to work with Plant Leadership
  • Agent of change

  • Pays attention to all details
  • Good meeting skills (come to conclusion in a short period of time)
  • Good computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office products


Educational Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)


Physical Requirements:

  • Time Factors/Weight Factors: Occasional—over 15% up to 40% of the time / Light 5# to 25#

                                                         Rarely—up to 15% of the time / Average –25# to 60#

  • Vision correctable to 20/20.
  • Climbing stairs and ladders
  • Hearing correctable to unamplified human voice.
  • Ability to complete and deliver oral/written reports.
  • Ability to meet safety, regulatory, and health guidelines without assistance.
  • Ability to work from heights.
  • Continuous mental/visual concentration.
