Position Summary:

TheVice President of Operational Excellence will drive strategic capability creation by identification and elimination of waste, reducing inefficiencies and complexities, optimizing operational capacity, and continued building of a culture of continuous improvement that is powered by Lubrizol’s core values.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Utilizes leader standard work to drive operational excellence
  • Plan, lead and execute the implementation of lean and world-class operational processes across Lubrizol’s global operations facilities
  • Help to create the culture of “One Lubrizol” by fostering knowledge transfer and collaboration across teams in the different brands, sharing and celebrating successes
  • Manage projects from inception to delivery, creating and managing against detailed project plans/budgets/schedules
  • Provides timely and regular status reporting to management and project stakeholders
  • Manages project resources and budgeted costs, forecasting needs and requirements as necessary
  • Participates in project meetings to help define project scope and objectives
  • Facilitates project meetings across all levels of project stakeholders
  • Drive team development and performance, ensuring a high level of employee engagement and a diverse and inclusive workforce

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably industrial, chemical, or mechanical). Master’s degree/MBA preferred
  • 10 years’ experience in Manufacturing Operations or Engineering, preferably in the chemical industry
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience managing operations and/or large ($10MM+) programs across multiple international locations
  • Can effectively work in a matrixed organization
  • Strong communication and networking skills
  • Strong PC skills, including MS Office software
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills as well as facilitation experience
  • Self-motivated, proactive with the ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced, “high energy”, team-oriented environment
  • Must demonstrate enthusiasm, a sense of urgency, attention to detail, commitment and follow-through while maintaining confidentiality and meeting deadlines
