Accountability Statement:

 

Provide accurate and compliant financial reporting and actionable insights to meet corporate, segment and US GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles) requirements, while ensuring a strong internal control environment.

 

Essential Job Functions:  

  • Record journal entries as part of the monthly close
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reports with commentary as required
  • Issue rebills for intercompany transactions and complete intercompany reconciliations involving global entities
  • Perform account reconciliations and analyses
  • Understand and satisfy the needs of internal customers, educating them on corporate policies and procedures as required
  • Participate in the annual budget process
  • Work on special projects
  • Stay in compliance with internal control requirements

 

Skills, Qualifications, Experience, Special Physical Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum 5 years of corporate accounting or finance experience or minimum 3 years of public accounting experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including strong written communication skills
  • Demonstrate strong work ethic
  • Show initiative
  • Strong detail orientation and organizational skills
  • Ability to work under time constraints and handle multiple tasks
  • Good leadership qualities
  • Capable of learning new systems, procedures, and processes
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office applications, such as Word and Outlook

Considered a plus:

  • Knowledge of SAP (Lubrizol’s enterprise resource planning software) and BOBJ (SAP Business Objects)
  • MBA, CPA, or other industry related designation
