Location: Wickliffe, Ohio

Flexible work option: 2 or 3 days/week in office

The Role:

The marketing manager is responsible for leading global marketing efforts in support of new business development opportunities identified by the Corporate Planning and Development team. The marketing manager will work closely with commercial and business development stakeholders from Energy Storage, Fluid Solutions, Separation Solutions businesses , and potentially others as identified in the future, to develop, align and execute integrated marketing programs and communication plans for several new business endeavors and product launches. Other activities include identifying marketing opportunities to liaise and align with key business alliances and partnerships in support of market awareness and growth targets.

The position is based at our headquarters in Wickliffe, Ohio, resides in the Lubrizol Additives Global Marketing team, and reports to the Regional Marketing Manager.


  • Develop, align and execute marketing plans for several businesses in support of new business endeavors and product launches.
  • Influence the requirements for and guide the execution of complex projects and marketing programs in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial (start-up) business environment.
  • Engage and communicate effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop and manage communication campaigns that include content development and promotion across multiple channels (e.g., advertising, public relations, digital and social marketing) ensuring consistent messages across all mediums
  • Develop and manage promotional items, literature, bookings, and other assets in support of several trade show and exhibition event project plans
  • Oversee interactions with the public by implementing social media platforms’ strategies, and build awareness and engagement by analyzing engagement data, identifying trends in customer interactions, and planning digital campaigns


What we are looking for:

  • 7-10 years of commercial marketing experience including supporting new product launches and managing integrated marketing communications plans. Work within a start-up is a plus. 
  • Experience with developing and implementing marketing plans and strategy on time and within budget.
  • Proven experience working face to face with customers and building outstanding customer relationships.
  • A proven track record in developing and managing product promotion and communication plans.
  • Demonstrable experience in building awareness and generating leads in new and emerging markets using the full portfolio of classic and digital marketing strategies
  • Impact orientation, focused on delivering quantifiable results. 
  • An ability to develop and influence new marketing concepts and techniques.
  • Ability to grasp complex technical and business issues and articulate them simply.
  • Exceptional cross functional leadership, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Creative flair and an attention to detail.
  • Able to travel (regionally and potentially globally) up to 20%.


  • Bachelor’s Degree – Marketing, Business or a technical discipline with a marketing focus or relevant equivalent experience. Advanced degree preferred.

Considered a plus:

  • Experience of copy writing and proof reading, particularly for technical industries.
  • Experience of working in a marketing agency.
  • Experience of working with marketing agencies and market research companies.
  • Experience of working within a matrix organization.
  • Understanding ROI economics and financial reporting.
