The North American Product Manager, Metalworking, collaborates with the global metalworking product line owners/commercial managers to develop product strategies for the North American market, and is accountable for implementing those strategies for the Biocide, Metal Processing and Metal Protecting product portfolios. This customer facing position delivers results through innovative products and solutions built around insights gained while directly engaging with the Industrial Metalworking market in collaboration with sales account managers.

 

Key Job Accountabilities:

  • Manage the entire product life cycle inclusive of product development support, launch, promotion, and obsolescence advancing regional objectives aligned with the global strategy.
  • Ensure clear product positioning with effective communication of performance benefits and by providing application recommendations directly to customers.
  • Retains a working knowledge of current market trends and collaborates with the marketing team to develop and deliver insight presentations to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Provides commercial justification and prioritizes technology projects supporting regional customer initiatives, effectively present results to close growth opportunities.
  • Build an in-depth understanding of the competitive environment and develop counter strategies.
  • Ensure collaboration across functional departments supporting the business through effective and efficient communication of regional priorities

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Chemistry, Business Administration or Marketing
  • 5+ years’ experience in Product Management, Sales, or Technology
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing product strategies
  • Application knowledge of metalworking additives, fluids, or industrial chemicals
  • Ability to build strong repour with sales account managers and directly with customers
  • Effective communication and presentation skills
  • A creative thinker as it relates to analysis and product positioning.  
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization and business team environment. 
  • Good understanding of basic financial principles.
  • Demonstrate ability to efficiently plan projects, analyze information, and execute to achieve agreed upon results.
  • Willing to travel domestically as needed (20%).
