HR Shared Services Payroll Team Lead

Lubrizol is currently looking for a service and process oriented Payroll Team Lead. In this role, you would have the overall responsibility for ensuring the timely processing of payroll across all Lubrizol sites in the United States. Additionally, you would be responsible for managing the integrity of data within the payroll system (ADP) by ensuring necessary processes and procedures are in place. In this role, you will lead and develop the Shared Services Payroll team to identify process improvements both internally and in partnership with ADP and the exploration of new service offerings. This role can be based anywhere in the US where Lubrizol operates, following a hybrid working model.

 

What you will do:

  • Lead team of NA LS Payroll Specialists and Coordinators with accountability for NA region-specific Payroll Administration. 
  • Responsible for service quality, customer orientation, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement of processes related to payroll administration

  • Trains and manages team to achieve process/procedure service outcome expectations. 
  • Execute the overall defined NA LS Total Rewards metrics/KPIs in collaboration with other LS resources. 
  • Ensure all HR services provided by the NA Payroll group are delivered in accordance with current internal policies and procedures, local, regional and national laws and regulations. 
  • Monitor the resolution of all relevant manager/employee payroll related inquiries to ensure they are assigned to the appropriate NA Payroll representative.  Provide specialized knowledge/support for escalated inquiries and grant exceptions as needed. 
  • Develop and execute requirements, plans and solutions for improving NA Payroll processes, governance, programs, overall experience, etc., in partnership with NA HR Operations Manager, COEs, etc.   
  • Identify and manage risks; develop mitigation plans to anticipate/minimize impact on HR services provided by the NA Payroll group. 
  • Support and coach HR Site teams, HRBPs and Managers for applying/communicating NA Payroll programs, policies & processes. 
  • Monitor and manage relevant payroll suppliers/providers/vendors, contracts, pricing, fees, SLA performance and directs improvements while working with third parties to develop tactics to resolve recurring inquiries or problems. 

 

What you need:

  • Relevant education degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field; or equivalent professional experience within an international organization  
  • 6-8+ years of professional level HR experience, including at least 3 years supervisory experience 
  • 3+ years experience in managing Payroll Administration working with third party provider (ADP preferred)
  • Experience managing processes related to Payroll, Time & Attendance, Benefits, and Compensation operations and administration 
  • Experience in managing internal and external teams in a high-volume environment focused on operational excellence and superior employee experience
  • Experience with HR and/or other systems (i.e., SAP-HCM, ADP, etc.)
  • Experience improving processes and procedures
