 OEM Account Manager

 

Job Mission

OEM Account Managers are responsible for developing and managing relationships for specific automotive and/or heavy-duty equipment manufacturer accounts to identify, develop and pursue business opportunities that are complementary to Lubrizol’s business plans. OEM Account Manager provides input to sales and product management on how best to meet the needs of the manufacturers while closely coordinating Lubrizol responses to these needs to drive business growth.

 

Key Job Accountabilities

  • To develop an extensive network of contacts at the selected OEM Accounts across a broad range of disciplines.  Cultivate these networks to gain influence and steward decisions to measuraly grow the quaity of the busines.
  • Overall responsibility for select North American automotive and/or heavy-duty equipment manufacturers. Focus and accountability on Lubrizol business growth and opportunities within target OEMs.
  • Identify and develop opportunities for innovative modern technologies that expands Lubrizol’s business portfolio at the OEM.
  • Develop and implement OEM strategic plans, for all identified OEM accounts using inputs from the OEM management team, Sales and Lubrizol segment business teams to maximize the value of the business to Lubrizol.
  • Provide input to Lubrizol’s Sales and Product Management teams regarding pricing, product development, supply situation, etc. that affect manufacturer-related business needs.
  • Manage complexity in a global business: cultural difference, matrix organization, multiple products, technologies and strategies.  Works closely with OEM Group team members in Asia and Europe to support the global needs and opportunities of manufacturers and Lubrizol customers
  • Grow internal contact networks within Lubrizol market segments, sales, and R&D team

     

     

    Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Chemistry or Engineering,
  • Minimum 5 years of experience dealing with external accounts and/or lubricant, fuel or specialty chemical industries in a relationship management or sales capacity
  • Commercial acumen across multiple end use areas of the additive business 
  • Technical competence in relating to automotive and/or heavy-duty equipment manufacturer hardware systems and needs
  • Can aggressively find new opportunities and close business deals
  • Self-starter, self-managed that can influence decisions at various levels of an organization
  • Up to 30% travel both domestically and internationally

  • MBA
