Accountability Statement

The Marketing Communications Manager supports Lubrizol Additives’ strategic marketing and business objectives through internal and external communications counsel, planning and execution.


This role acts as a central point of contact for internal and external marketing communications initiatives and drives projects from concept to completion. As such, they must be able to conceptualize and articulate creative and strategic recommendations in a highly consultative manner while ensuring superb communications and creative execution across a wide range of channels.


While the main internal clients and business partners are located throughout the Americas, the marketing communications manager will also be required to collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders throughout the World.



  • Develop and manage expectations and strong working relationships with the assigned internal customers and sales and marketing partners—inspire trust and confidence.
  • Influence and drive projects across functions and throughout all levels of the organization, and proactively provide clear updates of project progress.
  • Establish strong working relationships with colleagues and external vendors.
  • Effectively manage a variety of projects and timelines simultaneously.
  • Gain and grow knowledge of Lubrizol, Lubrizol Additives’ businesses, the lubrication and fuel additives industry, oil and fuel additive markets and relevant original equipment manufacturers.
  • Write and present clear, effective, logically-structured communication plans that support Lubrizol Additives’ business objectives on both a regional and global level.
  • Serve as a central point of contact on all assigned projects and programs.
  • Manage the development and execution of a variety of marketing communications tactics—e.g. articles, imagery, video, webinars, podcasts, trade shows and other events, website and social media content, email newsletters, advertisements, news releases, etc.—across a variety of marketing channels.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with relevant members of the media, respond appropriately and timely to media requests.
  • Identify new communications opportunities, how to maximize existing opportunities and determine appropriate channels for maximum results.
  • Ensure messaging adheres to brand guidelines when creating all communications plans and materials.




  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism or equivalent
  • 8+ years of experience in marketing communications
  • Experience building strategic marketing communication plans that support business and marketing objectives
  • Experience writing project briefs and managing budgets, expenses and timelines
  • Experience with content management systems, social media platforms, email distribution systems, press release / media release distribution systems and other marketing-related tools


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ad agency experience
  • Google Analytics, marketing automation and AI experience
  • Fluent in Spanish
  • Demonstrated writing experience
