Job Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide professional services for the construction, installation, modification and maintenance of safe, reliable systems and facilities at the LZ Wickliffe Plant.
- Independently read and interpret planning sheets, sketches, and related technical data.
- Safely maintain, troubleshoot, repair, modify, and/or construct mechanical equipment used to make and move chemicals in accordance with written guidelines and procedures.
- Provide technical input to internal customers regarding the installation, repair, and safe operation of equipment and systems.
- Continuously improve the quality of individual and group services to meet the plants’ needs in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.
- Safely work independently and around others by following all required procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited school.
- Minimum 5 years maintenance experience
- Knowledge of the following:
- Welding, metal fabrication, equipment troubleshooting, rigging, forklift operation, rotating/stationary equipment repair, millwrighting, pipefitting and layout, plumbing, insulating, reading prints and diagrams.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Proven customer service skills.
- Ability to wear SCBA\Respirator and other protective equipment as required.
- Proper use of tank entry equipment, PPE, and confined space work permits are required.
- Good math skills (addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication).
- Communicate effectively with peers and management at all levels through written, verbal and taking direction.
- Computer skills.
- High level attention to detail.
Considered a Plus:
- Previous chemical plant, nuclear or military engineer experience or knowledge of chemical hazards
- Formal technical/trade schools or certification.
- SAP knowledge.
- Experience with various pump (PDP, centrifugal, diaphragm and circulating) maintenance and repairs.
- Welding certifications
Working Conditions:
- Occasionally willing to work overtime including weekends, holidays and call-ins.
- Will be subject to extended periods of climbing ladders and stairways, sitting, walking, standing, bending, stooping, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, moving, and lifting up to 100 pounds.
- Presence of nuisance odors from chemical processes, testing facilities, or laboratories.
- Many areas may be extremely noisy.
- Must be willing/able to work outdoors in inclement weather.
