Lubrizol has an opening for a Microsoft Windows Client and Laboratory Engineer to join our Information Technology team. This is a new role, which will be part of a global team responsible for continuous operation, performance and strategic planning of enterprise client infrastructure running Windows and Android operating systems.

In this role, you will primarily be responsible for providing technical hardware, software, and operating system support, with a focus on Lubrizol’s lab, research, testing solutions, as well as assisting with the overall operating system lifecycle. The role will also include engineering support and duties related to Lubrizol’s standard (OSD) Operating System Deployment, hardware drivers, client browsers, enterprise applications, Active Directory Group Policy, Registry, Certificates, Microsoft Encryption/BitLocker, and Windows Defender Security for production systems.

This role can follow a hybrid working model, and be based at our Global Headquarters in Wickliffe, OH or our corporate headquarters in Brecksville, OH.


What you will do:

  • Lead targeted legacy hardware, software, and Operating System migrations to modern platforms
  • Work closely with other service groups within the IT organization to ensure efficient and effective resolution of support requests, incidents, and problems
  • Provide tier 3 support
  • Provide clear and precise technical process and end user facing documentation
  • Follow ITSM methodology to manage support requests, incidents, and problems
  • Coordinate service/support needs with vendors, technical engineers, service, and application owners
  • Effectively communicate issues and resolutions


What you need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (IT) or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant IT, and at least (2) years client engineering experience
  • Experience in connecting and configuring specialized Serial, Parallel, RS-232/485, FTDI, CAN BUS and Ethernet interfaces with testing and lab equipment
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Enterprise products:
    • Microsoft Windows XP/7/8.x/10/11, and Microsoft Server Operating Systems
    • Microsoft Management tools, including Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) formerly SCCM, MEM (Intune etc.)
  • Established expertise in building, configuring, and maintaining secure and effective Active Directory and Local Group Policy
  • Experience with Windows Terminal, PowerShell, and other tools used for endpoint management
  • Experience in Client security, risk management, standards, and procedures, etc.
  • Strong IT process discipline and trouble-shooting skills 
  • Demonstrated effectiveness of working independently, establishing priorities, and managing task completion aligned to the needs of the organization 
  • Organizational awareness with an understanding of how to engage to achieve results
  • Ability to effectively build relationships and work in a collaborative, matrix-driven, global environment
