Lubrizol is currently looking for an HR Generalist to support our Global Headquarters site in Wickliffe, OH. In this role, you would partner with the HR team to support your stakeholders in a consistent manner. You would also help to drive operational excellence through process improvements and participation in projects. To be successful, you will need to build strong relationships and trust with stakeholders through respectful and timely communication, and being a credible resource. 

 

What you will do: 

  • Provide front-line employee life cycle support to Lubrizol’s Wickliffe site (i.e., onboarding/exiting, compensation, job changes, conduct employee investigations, support communications for company and region-wide HR programs/initiatives, respond to local HR-related inquiries).
  • Evaluate and resolve Human Relations activities (i.e. Act as a point of contact for questions, issues and complaints raised from employees related to HR policies, programs, and procedures, and coordinate the resolution of cases; oversee the implementation and completing of Performance Improvement Plans and corrective actions and ensure compliance with company policies and labor laws and agreements; act as point of contact and conduct investigations for employee issues; communicate outcomes of inquiries and investigations to appropriate stakeholders; consult with Employee Relations team and managers on employee issues/concerns and development/completion of action plans, as needed
  • Engage in partnering with Talent Acquisition for recruiting
  • Support site adoption of the company’s performance and career management program; promote the value of formal performance and career management discussions between employees and supervisors to review overall work performance, objectives, and career development.
  • Assist in developing and conducting various training programs as required. 
  • Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensure site and regional policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance with Federal, State and local laws.  Provide counsel, advice and guidance to staff, supervision and management on legal and regulated matters to ensure the company complies with various regulatory agencies and guidelines (EEOC, NLRB, etc.).
  • Build relationships and establish trust with internal customers (i.e., front-line supervisors, site management team, employees). 
  • Participate in North America and Global HR community projects/teams as requested.  Continuously improve internal processes, procedures and organizational systems.
  • Other duties as assigned.
     

What you need: 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with a minimum 2 years of human resources or related field
  • Employee relations experience with a minimum 2 years’ experience
  • Knowledge of HR policies, procedures, principles, processes and regulations and comfortable advising others in these areas
  • Candidate should possess:  Solid problem solving and decision-making skills, sense of urgency, attention to detail, organization, ability to execute multiple tasks while maintaining confidentiality and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills, effective communication (written/verbal/listening), as well as facilitation experience.
  • Demonstrate behavior supporting Lubrizol’s Cultural Beliefs (All In, Take Action, Lead Decisively, Think External, Be Courageous)
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Applications, HRIS).
     

What will put you ahead: 

  • HRCI / SHRM certification(s).
  • HR experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience supporting multiple shifts of employees
     

Working Conditions:

  • Must be willing/able to perform duties and responsibilities in a chemical manufacturing environment, adhering to all required safety protocol.
  • Safely work independently and around others by following all required procedures.
  • Occasional travel required
