HR Business Director

The HR Business Director is accountable for providing strategic counsel and advice to ensure the assigned business/function has a competitive talent base to deliver results. This role partners across HR functions and with senior leaders to drive and align strategic initiatives with business objectives, including workforce planning, organizational design, change readiness, talent and compensation reviews, performance consulting and succession planning. The role reports to the VP of Human Resources.

 

Key Essential Job Function:

  • Build and sustain trusted advisor / business partner relationships with assigned business / function senior leadership team
  • Act as change agent, strategic advisor, and collaborator with senior leaders to influence and shape culture, business plans, vision, mission, priorities, and human capital strategies 
  • Partner with senior leaders to create and deliver strategic talent plans by leveraging HR expertise, client group knowledge and engaging resources from the broader HR enterprise, including: 
    • Identifying business drivers that may require org development/change, and planning/executing organizational change initiatives 
    • Completing business unit workforce environment analysis, short/long-term workforce requirements aligned to business priorities, and partnering with COE/business unit leaders to develop workforce strategy 
    • Establishing high-level talent acquisition needs and providing input on talent acquisition strategy 
    • Analyzing talent-related trends and metrics to identify issues/opportunities and devlop solutions
    • Developing/delivering key culture, inclusion, and other strategic HR messages/plans
  • Represent the needs of business/function within the broader HR enterprise by highlighting competitive landscape, business/function objectives and strategies to help shape HR solutions and offerings, including: 
    • Identifying business unit learning needs and planning/implementing business unit-wide learning initiatives 
    • Providing input to benefit/compensation program design 
    • Sharing feedback with COEs on effectiveness, communications, and deployment strategy of any programs/initiatives 
    • Engaging with and providing guidance to Region HR Directors for execution of business/function strategy and priorities 
  • Lead and/or contribute to HR projects, annual goals and other strategic initiatives
  • Work with business/function leaders to champion HR, the HR Operating Model, and COE programs 

 

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business management, industrial and organizational psychology or related field or equivalent professional experience within an international organization
  • Minimum of 10 years human resources experience with at least 3 years of generalist experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience 
  • Experience working closely with HR leaders to establish strategy, program, tools, policies, and processes 
  • Experience acting as a change agent, strategic advisor, and collaborator with senior leaders to champion HR standards and influence/shape business plans, vision, mission, and priorities
