Summary

Lubrizol is on a multi-year journey to safe and reliable production at our manufacturing facilities.  We are looking for an individual to help lead this enhancement of infrastructure and help ensure the safe execution of our capital program across Lubrizol through strong partnerships with our production facilities.  We are looking for a Director or Vice President to create and lead this function globally as part of our Operations division.

 

The Director / VP is responsible for facilitating the overall execution of new and existing capital projects at Lubrizol while maintaining facility and safety excellence, driving key business initiatives, and meeting budget goal forecasts.

 

Essential job functions include: 

  • Facilitate the overall execution of capital projects.  Execute projects safely, on schedule and within budget by working with the production facilities to allocate resources and planning for existing and new project construction globally.
  • Develop and execute an engineering strategy based on industry standards and best practices ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Working with local leadership and key stakeholders, create a list of key initiatives to be completed in the short and long-term.
  • Manage a geographic diverse group of engineers and project managers in the structural, electrical, instrumentation, insulation, and mechanical disciplines for existing, new, and expansion projects on a global scale. 
  • Integrate new technologies, lessons learned from previous projects, current regulations, and best practices in safety into new projects.
  • Establish and lead the project management office including development, review and on-going oversight of project management best practices which increase execution effectiveness and profitability.
  • Instill a discipline in project execution through project quality assurance reviews and auditing of project management deliverables for compliance with standards and required processes.
  • Develop communities of practice for project management functions by supporting project management resources.
  • Develop performance metrics for execution resources and instill a high level of accountability and rigor in meeting and or exceeding expectations regarding project management effectiveness.
  • Manage and adapt a multi-year capital strategy to ensure appropriate resources to execute a companywide capital plan. 

  

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • 10 years of experience in construction project management of projects exceeding $150M in hard costs to include small, medium, and large capital projects. 
  • Experience with global construction projects required. 
  • Manufacturing experience required, chemical industry preferred.
  • Strong organization, leadership and influencing skills.  Proven ability to manage teams and multiple projects / tasks through direct and indirect reporting lines.
  • Knowledge of a variety of mechanical systems, including proper maintenance protocols.
  • Ability to read architectural and engineering drawings and knowledge of CAD design software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an expertise in facilitation.
  • Must be highly independent, capable of making decisions in a dyn­­amic environment.
  • Ability to implement innovative solutions to complex problems through technology, partnerships and leveraging of resources.
  • Ability to assess a wide array of issues and translate into clear and concise plans and/or reports.
  • Project management experience with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability and willingness to travel globally up to 30-40% of the time.

 

Considered a plus: 

  • Understanding of fire safety systems.
  • Professional Engineer with license in good standing and active in United States or Country of Residence.
