At Lubrizol, we are eager to enhance our Communications team with a creative and strategic Digital and Social Media Manager. In this role, you will help reimagine how we utilize social and digital tools to tell our story. This is an exciting opportunity to build something from the ground up, from governance to content to engagement.

 

The Digital and Social Media Manager will be a part of the corporate communications leadership team and will partner closely with colleagues in internal communications, external communications, and executive communications to develop and deliver cohesive strategies to the organization. This position is responsible for developing high-level strategy, communications planning, creative concepting, and overall execution in collaboration with Creative Services and other global key stakeholders. They directly contribute to and manage our owned social channels. Partnering with multiple functional disciplines on show launches and campaign projects throughout the year; requiring close collaboration with groups internal and external to communications. The Digital and Social Media Manager position will be responsible for organizing and executing all technical launch moments for our owned and operated social platforms. Ensuring smooth launch events and pointed communication for all critical launched and evergreen initiatives. Preferably, this position would be based out of our Global Headquarters in Wickliffe, OH following a hybrid working model, but it is also open to be a remote position, based anywhere in the US where Lubrizol operates.

 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Lubrizol’s social media strategy to engage customers, partners, recruits and employees
  • Create, manage, monitor, and measure all social media content, including building an editorial calendar that promotes key focus areas and aligns to key moments throughout the year
  • Create governance for where and how Lubrizol’s social media channels should be used, including parameters for engagement
  • Engage with followers, employees, industry groups, customers, and partners to bring additional visibility to Lubrizol and key areas of focus
  • Consistently measure engagement and growth of followers on Lubrizol’s social accounts to inform and adjust the company’s social media campaigns and overall execution
  • Partner with the Global Communications and Creative team to manage Lubrizol’s digital and web corporate content and experience

 

 

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in PR, marketing, journalism, or a related discipline, or at least 5+ years working in a similar role
  • At least 5 years of social media experience in a Corporate or agency setting
  • Experience with social engagement and measurement tools
  • Proven ability to craft engaging messages for social audiences
  • Ability to partner cross-functionally to build and create engaging content
  • Excellent knowledge of LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and other social platforms
  • Stay up to date on new social media tools, best practices, competitive activity, and other social media leaders to bring early adopter technologies and trends
  • Proactively monitor and identify trending risk areas and make recommendations to mitigate risk
  • Solid understanding of marketing best practices and activations across social media
  • Experience working collaborating with third-party platforms and can understand platform updates and best practices

 

 

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Detail-oriented with superior organizational skills balancing multiple projects, deadlines, and requests should be second nature to you
  • Bachelor’s degree in a business or communications-related field 
  • Experience managing and leading a team
