Position Summary

The Digital Marketing Strategist influences, develops and executes the digital marketing programs for the business, oversees implementation across all digital platforms, but notably, is the expert on Microsoft Dynamics marketing automation.  This role is accountable for optimizing the efficiency and outcomes of digital marketing campaigns that help achieve business and marketing objectives, including building brand awareness and positive perceptions, increasing the quantity of qualified leads generated and ultimately, driving a strong business development and sales opportunity pipeline. 

The Digital Marketing Strategist defines relevant segmentation, constructs buyer’s journeys, and develops and deploys relevant tactics and content to engage prospective buyers, improve lead scores and advance leads through marketing qualification to sales-ready state, helping make our marketing practices operationally excellent. 


Essential Responsibilities

  • Takes a consultative approach to identifying, establishing and implementing best practices for Inbound Marketing across multiple Global Business Units (GBU).
  • Partners with Communication and Marketing leads to identify gaps in current capabilities and develops action plans to address them.
  • Accelerates mindset change from dependence on marketing with traditional Outbound methods to a greater reliance and trust of Inbound tactics.
  • Develops and implements digital marketing campaigns, from audience definition to tactics, deployment, measurement and results.
  • Builds understanding of the buyer’s journey and buyer personas to improve targeting and content relevance. 
  • Connects digital marketing activities (deployed outside the system) to Microsoft Dynamics to build centralized visibility of the full lead funnel, including sample shipments.
  • Uses data analytics and dashboarding/reporting to identify and share key insights to drive continuous improvement and marketing effectiveness. 
  • Works within brand style guides to manage image and voice.
  • Stays abreast of industry and digital marketing best practices to progress Lubrizol’s marketing efforts.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Digital Marketing or related field, with emphasis on digital marketing and analytics.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in email marketing, customer relationship management, customer journey mapping, lead generation campaigns and lead scoring, segmentation, or as a marketing automation specialist; in the B2B/B2B2C environment preferred
  • Demonstrated understanding of current digital marketing concepts, strategy and best practices, including data analytics. Ability to take a consultative approach to identifying, establishing and implementing best practices across multiple GBUs and geographies. Understands legal and ethical implications of digital marketing activities.  Assures that business is informed, proactive and compliant.

  • Microsoft Dynamics Marketing Certification preferred
  • Basic HTML a plus
