Job Summary:

  • This position serves as the manager of the data analytics team while also functioning as a contributing member. The data analytics team supports plants and other Operations support teams world-wide, contributing to the solution of a wide variety of problems using various analytical techniques. The Data Analytics Manager will be a key member of the Corporate Operations Administration team, providing support to Global Operations at all levels. This is a highly visible position requiring significant interaction across the organization to deeply understand problems and provide leadership and analysis for solutions. 

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage, grow, and develop analytics team resources.
  • Envision and implement the strategy and direction of data analytics to support Lubrizol plants world-wide.
  • Work closely and collaborate with internal/external customers to improve important processes and related Operations’ metrics.
  • Partner with IS to build a data landscape to easily feed ad-hoc analytics and various use cases to support applications and program output for end users.
  • Partner with IS and Procurement to manage software security lists, version changes, and SOW’s/contracts for existing software.
  • Facilitate Operations special projects or initiatives as needed.

 

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

  • MS or PhD in Statistics, Data Science, Operations Research, or related field. Extensive experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Proficiency in a programming language and established good practices for programming and version control.
  • 7+ years of work experience in data analytics - optimally with time supporting a production environment.
  • Background in statistical modeling and visualization – especially as it applies to the decision-making of the end-user.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate to all levels of the organization with the skill of expressing statistical output in a non-technical, business-friendly way.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Experience training different levels of the organization on data literacy and statistical concepts

 

Considered a Plus:

  • Proficiency in Python programming.
  • Knowledge of Minitab, Statgraphics, or JMP statistical software.
  • Understanding of the forecast modeling of product demand. 
  • Competence in agent-based simulation modeling for improving process flow.
  • Use and understanding of continuous improvement concepts.
  • Previous people management experience, especially global.
  • Expertise in reinforcement learning, especially in combination with agent-based modeling.
  • Experience using power applications.
  • Experience with Seeq software.

     

 

Working Conditions:

  • Position is based in Wickliffe.
  • Up to 20% domestic and international travel to Lubrizol locations.
  • Must be willing / able to work in a plant environment with the ability to wear all required PPE.
  • Flexibility and commitment to work outside of normal work hours as required
