The Lubrizol Corporation has an opportunity for a Corporate Transactions Attorney. In this role, you would report directly to our General Counsel, and provide legal counseling to Lubrizol leaders. You would also negotiate and document a variety of transactions for our global complex manufacturing company. This is both a strategic and hands-on role where you will partner with the company leaders, while utilizing your legal knowledge and business expertise daily. This position will be based at our Global Headquarters in Wickliffe, OH, following a hybrid working model.


What you will do:

  • Counsel business leaders on achieving business objectives through transactions;
  • Negotiate and evaluate legal risks in relation to commercial contracts; and
  • Other projects as assigned.


What you need:

  • Attorney with 5+ years’ commercial contracts and transactions experience in a diverse manufacturing environment;
  • Meaningful experience evaluating, structuring, and negotiating commercial contracts and commercial transactions;
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills;
  • High organizational and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to thrive independently in a fast-paced organization;
  • J.D. degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school; and
  • Member in good standing with a State Bar.


What will put you ahead:

  • Chemical manufacturing industry experience;
  • International commercial contracts and transactions experience;
  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions and real estate and construction transactions;
  • Familiar with product-liability risks, including in connection with medical products; and
  • Diversified background in a large law firm and in-house setting.
